Purpose
Gate Booker sends transactional text messages related to loading-dock scheduling — not promotional or marketing blasts. Messages confirm arrival slots, deliver manage/QR gate-pass links, and support time-sensitive booking actions (confirm, reschedule, running late).
Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties/affiliates.
How users opt in
Consent is collected on our website before any SMS is sent. Users must check an unchecked consent box — consent is never pre-selected. Messaging consent is optional and is not required to complete a booking.
1. Vendor / driver booking form (primary flow)
When a driver claims an arrival slot through a dispatch booking link, they enter a mobile number and may check a consent box with this language: By checking this box, I agree to receive automated transactional text messages from Gate Booker about my dock booking (arrival confirmation, schedule changes, and gate-pass / manage links). Message frequency varies (typically a few texts per booking). Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Consent is not required to complete a booking if I leave this unchecked and skip SMS.

2. Interactive demo (/try)
The product demo uses the same unchecked consent checkbox before sending a sample booking confirmation SMS when messaging is enabled and the user opts in.

Re-consent after opt-out
If a number previously replied STOP (or equivalent), we will not resume SMS until the user completes a Gate Booker web flow again and affirmatively checks the SMS consent box. Replying START by itself does not restore messaging and does not count as consent. See /policies/opt-out.
What we do not do
- We do not purchase or import phone lists for SMS outreach.
- We do not send marketing SMS without separate opt-in.
- We do not use implied consent without a clear checkbox.
- We do not treat an inbound START keyword as consent after opt-out.
- We do not require SMS consent to use Gate Booker booking.
Message frequency
Frequency varies by booking activity — typically a few messages per active booking (confirmation, schedule changes, and gate-pass / manage links).
